Ingredients
500 ml (2 cups) water
2 tablespoons dried butterfly pea flowers
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, sliced (optional)
Juice of 1 lemon (approx. 1 teaspoon)
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon honey (or to taste)
Instructions
Boil Water: In a saucepan, bring 500 ml water to a boil. Add the fresh ginger if using.
Steep: Remove from heat, add butterfly pea flowers. Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
Strain: Strain to remove flowers (or keep them in for visual appeal).
Flavor: Stir in lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, and honey. The drink will turn a vibrant purple.
Serve: Enjoy warm, or pour over ice for a chilled version.
Notes
Adjust sweetness with more or less honey.
Drink once or twice daily for best results.
The butterfly pea flowers are rich in antioxidants and help promote calmness and mental clarity.
Color transformation happens due to the pH change when lemon is added.
